Jordan Morris is My Best Friend [Jesse Boy, Time to Move On]

Jordan Morris is my best friend
Secret handshake, chocolate milkshake
Playful give-and-take; coffee break
Jordan Morris, you’re my best friend

One hundred days since I’ve felt blue
Jordan sticks to me like glue
Disco nights and slapping five
Crushing puss —- in overdrive

He gave to me his burgundy sweater
I read to him —- The Scarlet Letter
He popped the top from my pickle jar
I cosigned the lease on his new car

He introduced me to the Tokyo Drift
I gave him Star Trek for a birthday gift
He sat front row when I gave a talk
On comradery in the Eastern Bloc

Jordan Morris is my best friend
Secret handshake, chocolate milkshake
Playful give-and-take; coffee break
Jordan Morris, you’re my best friend

Gilgamesh and Enkidu
Are not as strong as me and you
Achilles had a fatal flaw
Patroclus, a thorn, a paw

With hearts of gold and skin of leather
We march right through the gravest weather
The trumpets call for valiant men
Who are drawn to tears by our peaceful Zen

And in the castle of our Rule
We need a butler to serve the gruel
For that there’s room for one forlorn
Sharply dressed, Jesse Thorn

Jordan Morris is my best friend
Secret handshake, chocolate milkshake
Playful give-and-take; coffee break
Jordan Morris, you’re my best friend

The fears of mortals cast aside
We reach across the great divide
Uniting demons within our souls
To venture down the rabbit hole

Thirty armies of bronze and of led
Have knelt before us with mortal dread
We cut down bands of space-age troops
Wearing radioactive fission suits

Ten million years will come and pass
(Ancient heroes never last)
But in the fortress of your mind
Me and Jordan are all mankind.

Jordan Morris Poetry Contest!
You have until Saturday, October 19th to write and post here on Tumblr (or on our Facebook wall) a poem about Jordan Morris. The only rules:
It should respect that Jordan is a grown adult who is more than the sum of references to his adolescence. (The “no ska” rule).
No novelty poetry - it must aspire to genuine beauty (the “no Man From Nantucket” rule).
It must be tagged #JJGo so our producer Sunny D can find it.
The winner will get a big fat prize pack - including a t-shirt and a bunch of other special MaxFun stuff.
Ready… steady… GO!
